General Practice Questions

How do I register as a new patient at Woodford Dental Care?

Registering as a new patient at Woodford Dental Care is straightforward. You can call our reception team directly or complete our online registration form on our website. We accept both NHS and private patients. During your first visit, we carry out a comprehensive oral health assessment including digital X-rays where clinically necessary, so we can build a full picture of your dental health and discuss any concerns or treatment goals you may have. New patient appointments typically last around 30 minutes.

Are you accepting new NHS patients?

We understand how difficult it can be to find an NHS dentist. Please contact our reception team directly by phone or through our website to check current NHS availability, as this can change frequently. We also offer a range of competitively priced private treatment options for patients who prefer not to wait. All new patients receive a thorough initial examination regardless of whether they are seen under the NHS or privately.

What are your opening hours?

Woodford Dental Care is open Monday to Saturday; opening times are as follows:
Monday - Thursday 7am to 8pm; Friday 7am to 6pm & Saturday 7am to 3pm.

Do you offer emergency dental appointments?

Yes. If you are experiencing severe tooth pain, a knocked-out tooth, uncontrolled bleeding, swelling, or a broken restoration, contact us as soon as possible. We reserve emergency slots each day for urgent cases and will always do our best to see you on the same day. Outside of normal opening hours, our answerphone provides guidance on how to access emergency dental care.

What should I do if I have a dental emergency outside of opening hours?

If you experience a dental emergency when the practice is closed, call our main number for recorded instructions on accessing out-of-hours emergency care. For severe facial swelling, difficulty breathing, or uncontrolled bleeding, go directly to your nearest A&E department. For pain management while waiting, over-the-counter painkillers such as ibuprofen (if suitable for you) and applying a cold compress to the outside of your cheek can help reduce discomfort and swelling.
